General Dentistry covers a wide range of essential dental care services that help maintain your oral health and prevent future problems. From routine check-ups and professional cleaning to fillings, extractions, and preventive treatments, it is the foundation of a healthy smile.

Dentures
Dentures are removable dental appliances replacing missing teeth and the surrounding tissues to restore your smile, gives you a younger and more attractive appearance!
Acrylic dentures are usually the most cost-effective appliances, and can be made within a short period of time. Other advantages are that they can be relined, added to (in case you lose any more natural teeth) and can be used as a temporary denture before dental implants, or whilst waiting for chrome dentures.
If you’ve lost all of your natural teeth, the mouth has a tendency to overclose, which causes the cheeks to exhibit a ‘sunken-in’ appearance and wrinkles line to form at the corner of lips. The front teeth, when present, serve to properly support the lips and enhance the smile. Loss of muscle tone and skin elasticity due to old age, when most individuals begin to experience edentulism, tend to further exacerbate the condition. The tongue tends to fill the space it is allowed, and in the absence of teeth, will broaden out. However, once the space is restored by the prosthetic teeth, the tongue will return to a narrower body.

Fissure Sealant
The most important reason or getting sealants is to avoid tooth decay.
Sealants are thin, plastic coatings painted on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. The procedure is simple and painless, as the sealants are painted on as a liquid and quickly harden to form a shield over the tooth.

Fluoride Gel
Fluoride prevents the acid produced by the bacteria in plaque from dissolving, or demineralizing, tooth enamel, the hard and shiny substance that protects the teeth.
Fluoride combats tooth decay in two ways:
- It is incorporated into the structure of the developing teeth when it is ingested
- It protects teeth when it comes in contact with the surfaces of the teeth
Fluoride also allows teeth damaged by acid to repair, or remineralize themselves. Fluoride cannot repair cavities, but it can reverse low level tooth decays and thus prevent new cavities from forming.

Intra-Oral Camera
Intra-oral photographs help your children to witness the condition in their mouth through real-time images from screens or monitors.
This helps in communication and education that could make a treatment more predictable. In certain cases, we may need to take radiographs (X-ray) to diagnose and treat some conditions that are not easily seen intra-orally. In our office, we use digital radiography that could reduce the exposure of X-ray greatly compared to conventional ones as your health are important to us. We only take radiograph when it is necessary.

Oral Surgery
Oral surgery may become necessary at some point in your life. If you experience pain and swelling or any discomfort at the back of your jaw, it is an indication that they are causing problems.
In most of the cases, the wisdom teeth may not have enough room in the jaw to fully erupt. They can be misaligned; possibly positioned horizontally or angled towards or away from the other molars. If left untreated, impacted wisdom teeth can potentially harm adjacent teeth, the jawbone and the nerves. Your dentist will conduct an X-ray to help you in making an informed decision and provide the best solution for your problem.
To prevent problems associated with impacted wisdom teeth, it is advisable to remove them early. The best time to remove them would be during the teenage years, before the roots of the teeth are fully formed and firmly embedded in the jawbone. Healing is also better during this period, with less risk of complications.

Teeth Cleaning & Polishing
Dental cleanings involve removing plaque (soft, sticky, bacteria infested film) and tartar (calculus) deposits that have built up on the teeth over time.
The purpose of the cleaning and polishing is basically to leave the surfaces of the teeth clean and smooth so that bacteria are unable to stick to them and you have a better chance of keeping the teeth clean during your regular home care. If you can instill a good cleaning habit from young, the longevity of the teeth would be greatly increased.
Scaling & Polishing price start from RM100. As the final price will differ on a case-to-case basis, do get in touch with us for a proper consultation.

Bruxism Tray / Night Guard / Bite Splint
Bruxism tray is a removable tray made of a clear, medical grade acrylic, which is custom-fit to either your upper or lower teeth and worn at night to protect the teeth from grinding in your sleep.
Teeth grinding can be caused not only by stress and anxiety but by sleep disorders, an abnormal bite or teeth that are missing or crooked. The symptoms of teeth grinding include:
- Dull headaches
- Jaw soreness
- Teeth that are painful or loose
- Fractured teeth
Some possible causes of teeth grinding in children include:
- Irritation in the mouth
- Allergies
- Misaligned teeth

Caries/Decay Detection
Tooth decay if not identified at an early stage can cause permanent damage to the tooth, leading to pus formation pain and swelling. It can also spread among other teeth. It is caused by excessive consumption of sugar, inappropriate eating and brushing habits, chewing tobacco, smoking and consumption of alcohol. Crack and small cavities are a sign of tooth decay and they can be seen with naked eyes. If the tooth feels soft and catching when probed by a dental instrument, it is understood that the tooth has decayed and needs immediate attention before the cavity get larger and affect deeper layers of the tooth.
By having your dentist check on the health or your teeth routinely, you can prevent cavities, gum disease and other serious dental problems. The goal of preventive dentistry is to evaluate your condition and to help you obtain and maintain the best oral health possible.

Endodontic Treatment
Endodontic treatment involves the pulp of a tooth, with content of nerve tissues and blood vessels that provide oxygen and nutrients supply. When the tooth is injured or infected, endodontic treatment is done to save the tooth.
Even though milk teeth eventually will fall out, your dentist will suggest repairing them unless they would fall out naturally soon. Milk teeth are important to guide the developing permanent teeth that replace them. If your child loses a milk tooth too soon, neighbouring teeth could move into the empty space, and eventually block the permanent tooth from coming in, or cause it to grow in tilted.
There are two types of endodontic treatment for milk teeth. Vital pulp therapy is the procedure to remove the pulp from crown portion of the tooth, and the pulp tissue in the root portion remains alive. A non-vital pulp therapy (a.k.a root canal treatment) is the procedure to remove the pulp tissue from both the crown and root portion.
However, the tooth has to be extracted, if neither of the treatment is success.

Root Canal Treatment
Endodontic therapy (root canal therapy) treats teeth with infected or inflamed pulp, which involves the removing of the damaged pulp tissue and replacing that part with an inert material before restoring the crown (cap). Upon completion of the treatment, even though the non-vital tooth have no sense of hot, cold, or sweet but can still be responsive to biting force and function normally.
During the procedures, your dentist carefully numbs the tooth, removes the infected pulp, carefully cleans and shapes the internal part of the tooth, then fills and seals the sterile space to prevent further infection and discomfort. A crown restoration is advisable to protect the endodontically treated tooth in a long term wise. Thus, an endodontic treatment requires a few visits that depend on the severity of the pulp infection and follow-up procedures.
Root Canal Treatment price start from RM7xx, depending on the condition of your teeth. Do contact us here for a proper consultation with our dentists!
