Myofunctional Therapy

Nowadays we could prevent our children from going through orthodontic treatment or braces if we could treat the cause of mal-alignment of teeth earlier. Mal-alignment of teeth could be a symptom of a lot of things that could relate to the body nervous system and other organs as well. Usually, one of the main causes of mal-alignment in children and teens would be Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs).  Simple corrective procedures that started early would make a huge difference in your child’s life.

Oro
facial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs) are abnormalities of the muscles and functions of the face and mouth. Most OMDs originate from insufficient habitual nasal breathing or with oral breathing. Whether directly or indirectly, it affects breastfeeding, facial skeletal growth and development, chewing, swallowing, speech, occlusion, temporomandibular joint movement, oral hygiene, stability of orthodontic treatment, facial esthetics, and so on.

Just as physical therapy helps to train our bodies back into optimal shape after an injury, orofacial myofunctional therapy (MFT) is a rehabilitation program that helps train soft tissues of the face, neck, and mouth to function at the height of their ability. On the other hand, it helps guide the growth and development of facial structures, not to mention the cosmetic benefits can bolster one’s self-esteem. Our goal is to cultivate an awareness of muscle use and develop a therapy program of regular exercises designed specifically for your needs.

Every child is unique — treatment fees depend on their age and condition.
